This is the beginning of a new blog for parents who want to be smart about they way they raise their kids.  I have lots of ideas, but I’m also looking forward to hearing from you - your opinions, your questions, your comments, your stories…

So, let’s get started:  smart parents always keep the end goal in mind when making decisions involving their children.  The goal of all parents is to raise their children to be successful adults.  The best way to do that is to teach your children how to negotiate the world they live in. Educating them about life as we live it is a much more effective means of reaching the parenting goal than protecting them from what is happening around them.

That’s my philosophy.  I’d like to hear yours.
